The Royal College of Psychiatrists is pleased to invite 
psychiatrists working in England who may wish to develop a specialist interest in autism, to participate in a National Autism Training Programme for Psychiatrists, Enhanced Course. 

The programme will equip psychiatrists wishing to become autism specialists with the clinical skills needed to deliver enhanced autism support, including diagnosis, co-morbidity, and therapeutic approaches.

The development and delivery of this programme has been funded by NHS England – attendance is free. We have 100 places available which will be awarded on a first come, first served basis, for those meeting the criteria under course requirements below.

The programme will begin with a full day in-person only event on 19 March 2024 at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, 21 Prescot Street, London, E18BB . This will be followed by 16 eLearning modules, supported by mentoring and peer to peer support and requiring some guided self-study. The total study time required is approximately 50 hours. Participants will be able to complete the course at their own pace, over the course of a year. 

To participate in the course you must be able to attend the live in-person event in London on 19 March 2024.

Course requirements

The enhanced course is designed for general adult psychiatrists in England who want to become autism specialists in their trusts/regions and who may go on to work in SATs. It requires 50 hours of study/course engagement plus attendance at the live event in London on 19 March.

To register for the course, you must be able to attend the live in-person training in London on 19 March 2024. Please confirm below to register:
